Plymouth South Students Compete at DECA's International Conference

Four Plymouth South marketing students, along with their DECA advisor, attended DECA’s International Career Development Conference April 25-30th in Anaheim, California.  There were 18,000 people in attendance.  Alec Medeiros competed in Public Relations Project with his campaign, Ending the Stigma (Against Homelessness) and received a Certificate of Excellence for his presentation.  The team of Brianna Johnson, Nicole Mullally, and Allysia Tavekelian competed in School Based Enterprises-Food Operations with their presentation of The House (school store) and its promotions of cold brew coffee.  Earlier in the year they were awarded Gold Level Certification for their business plan of The House. It is quite an accomplishment to make it to the international level.  Students were also able to enjoy some free time at Disneyland and Universal Studios. Plymouth South Marketing on the Green Monstah!

Kelsey Doherty, Red Sox Social Media Marketing Director

Plymouth South Marketing students and staff enjoyed a sports marketing field trip to Fenway Park in April.  Kelsey Doherty spoke to the group about her responsibilities as the Social Media Marketing Director for the Red Sox.  She is responsible for posting all Red Sox information and pictures on the various social media sites.  One piece of advice she shared was to participate in tasks that may not be part of your job.  When Kelsey first started with the Red Sox, she along with everyone in the organization picked up trash and washed the seats after games.  It shows your work ethic and may lead to better opportunities.  When asked to name a class that has helped her the most in her position, Kelsey said she uses Excel on a regular basis.  Thank you to Kelsey and Francisco, our tour guide, who was very informative.
